HoundDog launches Restart Windows Services feature as part of Windows Services Check.

Award winning Remote Monitoring and Management Systems provider HoundDog Technology has added task automation to its toolset with the launch of a Restart Windows Services feature that automatically restarts Microsoft Windows services when they are in the stopped state.

This new feature, within the Windows Services Check, saves IT Support Companies and Managed Service Providers the time and hassle of having to manually restart Windows services and improves availability for their clients.

Automatic restart of a Windows service is easy to set up and email alerts can be created to advise the number of consecutive restarts, or the number of times the service is restarted within a given time period.  IT support companies can drill down into the current state of Windows services from their HoundDog DashBoard.

HoundDog’s Director of Product Management, Colin MacKenzie, said, “The HoundDog Windows Service Check ensures all essential services are up and running and alerts the support company to failed Windows services.  This new Restart Windows Service feature pro-actively restarts services which are in the “stopped” state, helping our customers maximise availability for their clients and saving them the hassle of having to manually restart the service."
